Before embarking on my consulting journey, I had the opportunity to work in global logistics, where I gained valuable experience in transporting goods across air, road, and sea. From handling the movement of various items, big and small, I worked directly with global brands in Automotive, Aerospace, and FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods). This hands-on experience not only allowed me to develop a deep understanding of logistics intricacies but also provided me with insights into the unique challenges faced by industry leaders.
I was fortunate to have the chance to apply the expertise I gained in the logistics sector to work closely with the same clients, focusing on manufacturing, operations, and logistics. Together, we embarked on implementing transformative programs of change, employing Lean and Six Sigma methodology. It was an incredible journey collaborating with these clients, driving impactful improvements, and striving for world-class standards. Witnessing the positive outcomes that resulted from our collective efforts was truly rewarding and reinforced my passion for driving effective change in organizations through data, innovation, and people.
The outcomes we achieved went beyond just commercial success; they encompassed a significant cultural shift as well. One particular brand stands out as a testament to our collaborative efforts, as they achieved annual savings exceeding £3 million. Seeing such substantial financial improvements was gratifying, but equally important was the positive transformation in the company’s culture. Seeing the team embrace change, embrace new approaches, and achieve these results was truly inspiring.
From here I made a natural move into consulting where I have had the opportunity to take on various interim leadership positions, including Managing Director, Commercial Director, and Sales and Marketing Director. These roles have equipped me with a diverse range of experiences and insights into different facets of business operations. Each position has further honed my skills and expertise, allowing me to bring a well-rounded perspective to the table. I’ve had the honour of collaborating closely with executive teams and creating impact at boardroom level. With a hands-on approach and strategic initiatives, I’ve assisted multiple businesses generate additional revenue ranging from £1 million through to £10 million.
I currently live in the UK, have 2 grown up children, a few pets and have a zest for life which I refer to as the 4F’s of Food, Family, Friends and Fun. I am an average golfer, enjoy running and have been known to run the occasional half marathon.
